Custom Wood Doors, Built From Scratch for Ventura County Homes

Every door designed, crafted, and fitted by one craftsman with 20 years of experience. Not a showroom. Not a kit. A true maker.

One Builder. Every Door.

Most door companies send a salesperson to measure and a subcontractor to install something off a truck. That's not how we work.

At Master Door and Crown, every door is conceived, milled, assembled, and fitted by a single craftsman with two decades of experience working exclusively in wood. When you hire us, you're working directly with the person who builds your door — not a project manager or a showroom rep.

That means better communication, a more refined result, and a door made exactly for your home's dimensions, architecture, and character.

I measure every opening myself, and I hang every door myself. After twenty years, that's still the only way I'll do it.

Why We Don't Sell Doors Off a Truck

A big-box door is built for an opening that doesn't exist — a perfectly square one. Here's what changes when your door is built for your actual house.

Built to Your Opening

Older homes settle. Openings go out of square, jambs lean, floors slope. A pre-hung door gets shimmed and caulked until it more or less fits. A custom door is milled to the opening you actually have — so it closes with one finger and stays that way.

Wood Chosen for the Coast

Salt air and afternoon sun are hard on a front door. We pick the species and the finish for where the door will live — a west-facing entry in Oxnard gets different wood and a different topcoat than a shaded interior door in Ojai. That's the difference between refinishing in fifteen years or in three.

Curb Appeal That Holds Up

The entry is the first thing anyone sees up close — buyers included. A solid wood door, sized and styled for the house, reads as quality from the street and still does decades later. Hollow replacements look fine on day one and cheap by year five.

Made to Match the House

A Spanish colonial in Ojai, a mid-century ranch in Camarillo, and a new build in Thousand Oaks shouldn't get the same door. We match panel layout, sticking profile, and hardware to the architecture, so the door looks like it was always part of the house.

Serving All of Ventura County

We build custom doors for homeowners throughout the county — from the coast to the hills. If you're in Ventura County, we'll come to you.
